Monks are close-range fighters that rely on their fists to defeat their foes, and use their divine powers to protect their allies. They can be either damage dealers or support members for their group, both by standing in close range to their enemies. Although they do not have the survivability of a tank, they have abilities that help them stay safe and stand behind their enemies. This vocation uses fist weapons, a new type of weapons that can be dual wielded. They don't use mana as a spellcasting resource, but energy.
Monks are not only powerful fist fighters, but also great healers thanks to their divine powers. They are a very versatile class that can switch roles in middle of a combat depending on the needs of the team. Most of their healing spells require the monk to meditate and reach a state of inner calm, causing them to deal reduced damage for a short period of time. As a consequence, when hunting alone, monks typically rely on potions and lifesteal for self-healing. As the energy-users they are, monks are not able to advance their magic level by casting spells. However, they can increase it through the use of equipment or potions, which boosts their healing power. |
